Jumps 41% in Quarter
Roadway Corp. said second-quarter profit rose 41% to $5.67 million, or 30 cents a share, as shipping volumes recovered and pricing held steady. Revenue was up 8.6% to $697.1 million.
Analysts on average were expecting earnings of 25 cents.
Shares of the Akron, Ohio, company, operator of general hauler Roadway Express, fell 69 cents to $35.01 on Nasdaq.
