Artless Priorities

Re “Artist’s Canvas Is 5 Miles of Concrete,” July 12: Why is Caltrans commissioning center-divider artwork? Our community along the 10 Freeway has been waiting for a wall for almost 40 years! There never is any money to fund our wall. Where is this money coming from for art?

There is only a chain-link fence between our home and the noise and pollution of the freeway. The safety and privacy of our community should come before art.
