Clean Up Dirty Water

Re “Cities Exaggerate Cost of Water Cleanup,” Opinion, March 10: Why is it that our local cities are using our tax dollars to fight against cleaning up polluted water? Did they miss the fact that 65% of the voters of L.A. County supported Proposition 40, the $2.6-billion bond measure that was largely promoted to protect water quality and open space? L.A. has great weather, diversity of cultures and incredible beaches. Enough is enough. The cities should stop fighting for dirty water. The time is long overdue to start cleaning up our beaches, rivers and wetlands.
