Re “Council Bans New Billboards Citywide,” May 1: Praise the Lord and pass the smelling salts. I thought I would faint from shock. The Los Angeles City Council actually found the political nerve to serve the people and ban new billboards in our city. Let’s hope it maintains this momentum and can begin the long-term process of reducing the number of billboards overall. The elimination of all illegal billboards would be a good place to start.
