Workers in Train Wreck Test Negative for Drugs

Toxicological tests on the conductors, engineers and dispatcher involved in the fatal train wreck in Placentia last month tested negative for drugs and alcohol, federal authorities said Thursday.
Two passengers died and hundreds of others were injured when their Metrolink commuter train was hit head-on by a Burlington Northern Santa Fe freight train. The engineer of the freight train told authorities he missed a warning signal because he was temporarily blinded by the sun.
The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the crash.
