THREE-DAY FORECAST

STAGE

Characters From Films

Christopher Durang has said that he went to the movies every day during his college years at Harvard; maybe that’s why he chose to portray changes in Americans’ perception of their national character by examining a variety of archetypal film characters in his 1977 musical comedy, “A History of the American Film.” An onstage pianist will provide the accompaniment--a first for the storefront Chance Theater, which has used tapes in previous musical outings.

“A History of the American Film,” Chance Theater, 5576 E. La Palma Ave., Anaheim Hills. Fridays-Saturdays, 8 p.m., Sundays, 2 p.m. Ends Dec. 22. $15-$18. (714) 777-3033.
