FBI to Open $3-Million Computer Forensics Lab

From Times Wire Reports

The FBI is creating a $3-million computer forensics lab to help investigators search for incriminating e-mails and encrypted documents in the hardware or software of seized computers and disks. The Regional Computer Forensics Laboratory is expected to be operating in Menlo Park next year.

“Almost every case these days involves a computer in some way,” said Randall Bolelli, director of the FBI’s regional forensic lab in San Diego.
