Re “Firefighting Innovations Get a Cool Reception,” Sept 15:
One understands Fire Capt. Kevin Keim’s annoyance over implausible schemes from novices for fighting fires. But experts are not always first to suggest points of departure leading to real progress. Perhaps the Orange County Fire Authority should encourage concepts from the public by establishing a unit to evaluate concepts.
