Peace sign

Thank you for your article on the movie poster for “What a Girl Wants” (“Peace Sign Pulled From a Movie Ad,” April 1).
I noticed that the peace sign was missing from the newspaper ads. I think it is a sad day in America when a peace sign is seen as offensive or controversial. Would Warner Bros. and the American public be more comfortable if she was holding a gun or a hand grenade?
