City Council Rejects Plans for Stadium Park

From Times Wire Reports

The City Council has rejected plans from the San Diego Padres to build a public park and commercial development around their new downtown ballpark and ordered the ballclub and the city’s redevelopment staff to design a larger park area.

Critics of the development complained that the Padres had cut the size of the park from plans that were put before San Diegans before the 1998 vote that approved the ballpark project.
