Fund-Raiser Set for Anti-Begging Measure

Backers of an anti-begging measure on the November city ballot will hold a fund-raiser next week to solicit cash from big spenders.
The breakfast event for Proposition M will feature mayoral hopeful Gavin Newsom, who put forth the measure.
“I find it incredibly ironic that they would be soliciting $10,000 donations to finance a campaign to make it illegal for poor people to solicit donations,” said Paul Boden of the Coalition on Homelessness.
