Spanks a Lot

Ricardo Padilla [Viewpoint, Dec. 13] thinks USC “got spanked by a second-rate Cal team?” A road loss by a field goal in triple overtime is hardly getting spanked. A spanking would be more like a score of, say, 27-0, 52-21 or 47-22, as a UCLA alumnus should know.
