Music and politics

“A Different Valor,” by Henry Chu (Dec. 7), says nothing about the music produced by the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. It is virtually all about politics.

I don’t think musicians should suffer for crimes committed by their country, but if you’re going to write an article about politics disguised as one about music, please be unbiased. You could have said “the world has watched in horror as Palestinian suicide bombers have blown up innocent civilians in buses and restaurants ... as the Israeli army bulldozed people alive and shot children for violating curfew,” instead of making an obfuscating reference to condemnations of Israel’s policies.
