Professor Arrested on Terror Charge Loses Job

From Staff and Wire Reports

The University of South Florida fired a professor who was branded a leader of the terrorist Palestinian Islamic Jihad by Washington and was arrested on charges of conspiring to kill more than 100 people.

University President Judy Genshaft said Sami Al-Arian was dismissed because he had abused his position, not because of the criminal charges.

Al-Arian has denied the charges and been on a hunger strike since his arrest last week.
