Kara Kennedy Has Tumor Removed

Kara Kennedy, 42, the daughter of Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, underwent surgery at Boston’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital to remove a cancerous tumor from her right lung.
She begins chemotherapy in the next few weeks.
She lives in Bethesda, Md., and is married with two children, ages 6 and 8.
Kennedy’s brother Edward Jr. lost a leg to cancer as a child in 1973. Her other sibling is Rep. Patrick J. Kennedy (D-R.I.).
