Greetings and a Prayer on Bush’s 57th Birthday

President Bush marked his 57th birthday with a visit to St. John’s Church, drawing birthday greetings along the way.
A lay minister said a prayer for Bush, but he was not mentioned in the list of birthdays the congregation was celebrating.
As Bush left, reporters shouted, “Happy birthday!”
“Thank you,” Bush said, smiling. “I was hoping someone in the crowd would recognize it.”
