More than 2,000 protesters arrested for clogging city streets to demonstrate against the war in Iraq could see all charges against them dropped.
Court Commissioner Paul Slavit signaled this week that he would dismiss charges against 2,300 people arrested the day after the war started -- unless prosecutors file new charges. Defense attorneys persuaded Slavit that prosecutors erred when they scribbled on citations that misdemeanor charges were being reduced to traffic infractions.
