Guns and Terror

Re “Ashcroft’s Russian Roulette,” editorial, March 5: I frequently wonder what our government is doing to protect us from terrorists who would exploit our often-lax gun laws. As weapons of mass destruction, dirty bombs, etc., continue to be daily news, shouldn’t the government also address guns as a possible homeland security threat?

I can see it now: like 9/11, Islamic militants simultaneously entering crowded subways, schools or concert halls, and suddenly they have a field day using high-powered guns. This seems a more likely scenario than someone being able to buy illegal chemicals (or slip them through our borders).
