Jury Deliberations in Slaying to Begin

The jury in the trial of a transgender prostitute charged with fatally beating a Ventura man heard closing arguments Friday and will begin deliberations Monday.
James Cid, 31, who uses the name Jamie, is charged with killing and then robbing Jack Jamar, 78, during an alleged sexual encounter three years ago.
Cid’s attorney maintained during trial that Cid acted in self-defense. Cid remained jailed Friday.
