Council Urges New Bids on Towing Contract

The City Council rejected a Police Commission recommendation Tuesday that Al’s Towing have the exclusive right to respond to towing and storage requests from the LAPD’s 77th Street Division.
Keyser Towing, which has had the job for 35 years, claimed the latest competitive bidding process was unfair.
The council urged the Police Commission to put out a new request for bids.
