Braggin’ on Alicia

Robert HILBURN’S review of the Ladies First Tour [“2 Out of 3 Ain’t Bad,” April 19] could not have been more on target. I’ve always been an Alicia Keys fan, but after her performance I now have the highest respect for her. She can sing, dance, play the piano and even be the maestro of her orchestra, better than any other artist.

In this era of “canned” music and lip-syncing, Keys is a breath of fresh air. It is just that much more obvious when she performs after and before rival artists who are not even in the same league.

Geez, man. Give Beyonce a break. She and Alicia Keys are two different kinds of entertainers, and people have different expectations of each. Beyonce is a solid entertainer.
