GOP Lawmaker Calls Iraq War a ‘Mistake’

Rep. Doug Bereuter, a 13-term Nebraska Republican who supported President Bush’s decision to go to war in Iraq, says he now believes “it was a mistake to launch that military action.”
Bereuter, 64, wrote a letter to constituents in his district around Lincoln expressing his views.
“Our country’s reputation around the world has never been lower, and our alliances are weakened,” Bereuter said.
