Memorial Celebration Planned for Gypsy Boots

A memorial celebration for Gypsy Boots, the advocate of healthy food and lifestyles known to several generations of Southern Californians for his colorful antics, will be held at 5 p.m. Aug. 28 at Paramount Studios, 5555 Melrose Ave., Hollywood.
Entrance will be through the Bronson Avenue gate.

Gypsy Boots -- A brief item in Saturday’s California section announcing an Aug. 28 memorial celebration for Gypsy Boots said the event would start at 5 p.m. In fact, the event runs from noon to 4 p.m. at Paramount Studios, 5555 Melrose Ave., Hollywood. Guests must RSVP at (310) 305-5712 by Thursday. Because of the studio’s security requirements, guests must also bring a photo ID that matches their name on the guest list.

Boots died of natural causes Aug. 8 in Camarillo.
He was believed to be 89.
