Cutting through ambivalence

Thanks to Michelle Maltais for the lovely article “A Short Cut to a New Perspective” (Jan. 8). After growing back my Anita Baker/Halleness ‘fro, I’ve been contemplating going short again. Your article confirmed my ambivalence.

I have a 5:30 appointment this evening. I will tell my stylist to work his magic. This time tomorrow, I will have released the dead weight that seems to illustrate my current social lifestyle. I, too, received more compliments and attention while wearing my hair short.
