Suspect to Be Arraigned in Kidnapping, Assault

A Laguna Hills man is to be arraigned today on kidnapping and assault charges after his DNA was matched to evidence in an October incident at a Midway City gas station, officials said.
Vernon Lee Fiene, 38, is being held on $1-million bail at Orange County Jail, said sheriff’s spokesman Jim Amormino.
Fiene is accused of threatening three women with a knife, fondling one of them and forcing them to drive to a residential area, where the women were able to run from the car escape and the man fled, authorities said.
