Court Rejects Appeal to Free Iraqi Terror Suspect

From Times Wire Reports

Norway’s supreme court rejected an appeal to free an Iraqi Kurd who co-founded an Islamic group that Washington has accused of being linked to Al Qaeda.

The high court refused to overturn an appeals court ruling detaining Mullah Krekar until Feb. 2 while authorities pursue an investigation into suspected terrorism links. Krekar, a co-founder and former leader of the militant Ansar al Islam group, was arrested Jan. 2 in Oslo. Krekar denies any links to terrorism.
