It’s Not the Moon Watch, Judge Says

A San Diego judge has dismissed a federal suit by a man who believed he owned the watch worn by astronaut Edwin “Buzz” Aldrin Jr. during the 1969 moon walk.
Stephen Morley of Long Beach filed a lawsuit seeking information from the government that he believed would authenticate the watch. Aldrin’s watch was lost in the early 1970s during shipment to the Smithsonian Institution. Morley bought the watch from a college student whose father found it while walking on a beach in Santa Barbara.
The judge’s dismissal came last week after the National Aeronautics and Space Administration concluded the watch is not the one Aldrin wore.
