Oxnard Bank Heist Followed by One in Ventura

Authorities were searching Tuesday for bandits involved in bank robberies in Ventura and Oxnard.
The first robbery occurred about 9 a.m. at Bank of the West in the 300 block of West Esplanade Drive in Oxnard. Police released few details, but said the robber, dressed in dark clothing, did not display a gun.
The second robbery took place about 11:40 a.m. at Washington Mutual Bank in the 3400 block of Telegraph Road in Ventura, authorities said.
A man in his late 20s entered the bank and showed a teller a black handgun he was carrying in a white bag, police said. He then gave the teller a note demanding money, before fleeing on foot with the cash.
He is described as 5 feet, 10 inches tall and slim, with a mustache and goatee. He was wearing a white hat, sunglasses, a long-sleeved mustard-colored shirt and blue jeans.
No one was injured in either robbery.
The FBI is also investigating both cases.
