Poll Sees Support for Tax Hike for Safety Services

From Times Wire Reports

A quarter-cent sales tax increase that would go to Santa Rosa’s police and fire departments has just enough voter support for approval, according to a poll conducted by the city.

The poll of 600 Santa Rosa residents indicated 66% of probable voters would support a sales tax hike if it were used to maintain police and fire services and reduce traffic congestion.

For it to pass, such a measure would require approval by two-thirds of those voting.
