A radical Hong Kong lawmaker won a fight to wear T-shirts to legislative meetings when his colleagues agreed to scrap a requirement that legislators wear shirts and jackets, the South China Morning Post said.
Lawmaker Leung Kwok-hung, known as “Longhair,” is frequently clad in a Che Guevara T-shirt and had been told his clothes were inappropriate.
“This is a victory for the people because the legislature should allow lawmakers to wear what grass-roots people wear, as their representatives,” Leung was quoted as saying.
