MLS Culture Clash Might Be a Problem

Interesting that American billionaire Philip Anschutz -- who basically owns Major League Soccer as well as the Home Depot soccer stadium -- lets millionaire Jorge Vergara replicate his Mexican Chivas team at the Depot stadium and sidestep MLS rules so he can have only Mexican players.

I guess anything goes between millionaires and billionaires when it comes to squeezing more bucks from suckers -- even if it means turning the stadium into a Spanish-only zone.

Meanwhile, Anschutz won’t spend a nickel to improve the Kings. An extended lockout is the best thing for King fans. After three years of idleness, the NHL will have to re-start with all-rookie teams, and that’s the only way the Kings will ever compete.
