Federal and state authorities have narrowed their investigation to one person in the case involving at least 16 governors who were sent letters from a Nevada prison that were rigged to catch fire.
“They have a focus for their investigation,” said Glen Whorton, assistant director for the Nevada Department of Corrections. Authorities confirmed that a 16th letter was sent to the office of Alaska Gov. Frank Murkowski. In three cases, a match inside the envelope flared when the letter was opened.
