Students Get New Venue for Moore Appearance

Student leaders at Cal State San Marcos said Thursday they have booked the Del Mar Fairgrounds for an Oct. 12 appearance by filmmaker Michael Moore.
Moore’s scheduled appearance on a campus event was canceled by university President Karen Haynes, who said it would appear as if the university were taking sides in the presidential race.
After Haynes withdrew university funds, students raised more than $40,000 in donations to pay Moore’s fee and other costs.
