Suspect in 1988 Fatal Stabbing Held in Florida

A man suspected of fatally stabbing a San Diego woman 17 years ago has been arrested in Florida, where he also faces charges of raping a prostitute last year.
Mark Francis Elder, 47, was taken into custody last week after DNA taken from the San Diego crime scene was found to match a sample from a November rape in Daytona Beach. San Diego authorities said they plan to begin extradition proceedings this week.
Elder is suspected of killing Janet Moore, 27, in a downtown apartment in 1988.
