Take Out Stein’s ‘Trash’

The coarseness of Joel Stein’s Jan. 9 column, “Why Hot, WASPy Chicks Love Jews,” is an indictment of the taste level of the editors of the Opinion section as well as the column itself. If this column belonged any place, I’d suggest the wall of a bathroom in an institution for the demented -- or, perhaps the Calendar section. On second thought, it didn’t belong there either. In any event, the readers of The Times’ Opinion section expect and deserve observations and opinions expressed far more professionally than this trash.
