School Secretary Is Charged With Theft

A San Jose school secretary was charged Monday with two felony counts of embezzling nearly half a million dollars that middle-school students had raised to fund yearbooks and school plays.
Barbara Jo Price, 44, was charged with grand theft in the disappearance of funds from Bret Harte Middle School over the last six years, said Santa Clara County Deputy Dist. Atty. John Chase.
She was being held in a San Jose County jail.
