Pickup Flips on I-15 Killing 3 Corona Teens

Three teens from Corona were killed in a crash Monday night near the interchange of Interstates 15 and 40 in Barstow.
Dennis James Flores Jr., 18, Jonathan Martinez, 18, and Leslie Barrera, 17, died as a result of the crash. Flores was driving a small pickup that was traveling north on Interstate 15 when it left the roadway, crossed the dirt divider and struck a curb. The truck overturned in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 40.
Flores and Barrera, who was declared dead at the scene, were ejected from the truck. Flores and Martinez were declared dead Tuesday at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton. A 17-year-old female was hospitalized.
A California Highway Patrol officer said Flores was arrested before his death because alcohol or drugs were allegedly a factor in the crash.
