Beachgoers Told to Stay Away From Seal Pups

Beachgoers are being warned to stay away from elephant seal pups resting on Monterey Bay-area beaches. Elephant seals are born in January and February and stay with their mothers for about four weeks. Mothers then leave their young with a group of pups, where they use tide pools to learn to swim and forage.
