Saved From the Wrecking Ball

Carol Mithers’ article about the history of one Los Angeles house (“Vanishing,” April 17) was thoroughly researched and well-written. About three months ago, my son-in-law and I happened to pass the late Victorian house near the corner of Washington and Vermont. I was shocked to see the magnificent structure at that location. And I couldn’t help wondering why it was unoccupied and stood alone on a desolate lot. Mithers answered all of my questions and a lot more. I am extremely glad to know that the house will be spared from the wrecking ball.
