Holiday closures

Today is Labor Day. The following schedule will be
in effect:
Schools: Public schools, community colleges and universities will be closed.
Mail: No mail delivery; post offices will be closed.
Public Transportation: Orange County Transportation Authority buses will run on a reduced holiday schedule. Metrolink trains will not run.
Libraries: Most libraries will be closed.
Trash collection: Trash will not be picked up. Collections will be one day late for the rest of the week.
Banks: Most banking institutions will be closed.
Government: All city, county and federal offices and courts will be closed.

The latest effort is coming from the L.A. County Board of Supervisors. They just announced a $3 million program in conjunction with some nonprofits groups to test and clean the soil at homes still standing in the areas impacted by the Eaton Fire.
