Inspired by a True Master

What audacity to claim that “Ansel Adams is America’s most over-appreciated photographer” (“Graduation Dress,” Photo Synthesis, by Colin Westerbeck, Nov. 12). Each time I carefully view even a bad reproduction of one of Adams’ intense images, I see something deeply moving and inspiring. And I realize that even the most advanced modern photography and photographers cannot begin to approach the technical perfection he achieved.

We are to admire Adams’ work forever rather than duplicate it.
