Re “New Year’s Revelers Left Without a Cause,” Jan. 1

When the Giant Village 2006 New Year’s Eve event was canceled, I couldn’t believe it. It hadn’t rained in more than an hour and the streets were dry. The organizers’ promise to reschedule doesn’t impress me, as I live in Texas and only flew out to spend New Year’s with my sister.

I hope the organizers, GIANT Los Angeles Inc., will give a full refund to those who had so much faith in its event plans as to purchase the $85 tickets in advance. That hope took a blow when its website the next day said nothing about refunds.
