‘Ugly’ Is in the Eye of the Beholder

I was shocked and amused to see that you used an image of the “Ugliest Building Contest” winner, Hollywood & Highland, that bears no resemblance to the architectural experience at the site (“Bringing ‘Ugly’ Back,” by Christopher Hawthorne, Watch This Space, July 29). I would think that a monumental archway floating over a busy street would be viewed as an architectural and engineering miracle.
