I read Susan Spano’s “Cliffhanger” [Oct. 28] as if I were going on such an adventure -- which I am not. That is the mark of an exceptional travel writer. Great piece on the North Rim. We too were there about three weeks ago. On our arrival, I noticed a young woman at a rostrum across the room taking reservations for meals, so my wife went over to sign us up for dinner that night. She was told there were no slots for that evening, and that the second night was already booked too. When booking a room, make dinner reservations then too.
