Soaking up ‘Heat’

“Burn NOTICE” is one of my favorite shows [“Turn Up the Heat on ‘Burn Notice’ ” by Jon Caramanica, July 20]. The fact that it is a success is the cherry on top.

Second, the “backdrop” of Miami is used effectively, not unlike its use in “CSI: Miami.” Both shows pay homage to the quintessential Miami show, “Miami Vice,” in subtle and not-so-subtle ways.
Third, Sharon Gless is necessarily “hectoring and clueless” at times, but she is one of the best parts of the show. Fourth, I think Michael is pleased when he performs these operations. His overall demeanor may result from the killing he does and the sadness a person with a conscience would have over the deaths, justified or not.
