This year’s Israel Film Festival, which begins Friday at Laemmle’s Royal in West L.A., Sunset 5 in West Hollywood and Fallbrook 7 in West Hills, has done something special to commemorate that country’s 60th anniversary. Not only will the event show its usual complement of new works, it will offer a retrospective look at about 30 previous Israeli films, the best of which have placed that country on the world’s cinematic map. If you haven’t seen them, here is a chance to take a big-screen look at “Time of Favor,” “Broken Wings,” “James’ Journey to Jerusalem,” “Walk on Water,” “Beaufort,” “The Band’s Visit” and more.
