Southwest jet’s wheel blows out

From Times Wire Reports

Flames shot out from a wheel in the landing gear of a Southwest Airlines jet as it landed at Sky Harbor International Airport in Phoenix, closing the runway for more than two hours.

The 127 passengers were taken to the terminal while the plane, which had arrived from Austin, Texas, stayed on the runway. No one was hurt. A Southwest spokeswoman said overheated brakes caused a blowout.
