Re “Casting off life’s cares,” June 18

Dave Dixon claims that he has “more time on my hands than anyone I know.” Well good for him, but one suggestion: He should find a little more work to help pay for his healthcare, which we hardworking stiffs are likely subsidizing. I’m glad Dixon’s spirituality has set him free to golf, but those greens fees can really add up.

The Times makes this guy out to be a hero. How about Dixon working and saving so he is not dependent on tax dollars as he moves into old age?
