Olson’s lawyers seek her release

Attorneys for Sara Jane Olson filed a habeas corpus petition in federal court Tuesday, arguing that state corrections officials acted illegally and “without precedent” by re-arresting her rather than revoking her parole.
The state Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation said Olson’s premature release last week resulted from a clerical error that cut two years off her term.
Olson, also known as Kathleen Soliah, was convicted for her roles in a 1975 Symbionese Liberation Army plot to kill Los Angeles police officers by blowing up their patrol cars and the slaying of a customer during a botched bank robbery in Sacramento.
