Lawsuit filed over slaying at ATM

The family of a U.S. customs employee who was killed during a holdup at an automated teller machine has sued Bank of America for negligence.
The lawsuit, filed Friday in Los Angeles County Superior Court, said there had been at least three holdups at the same ATM since August.
Mylus Mondy, 47, was shot in the back and killed March 9 as he ran from attackers who tried to rob him at a Bank of America in Ladera Heights.
Attorney John Sweeney said the bank had a duty to notify the public of the robberies or take measures to protect customers.
The suit also names a man and a woman who were arrested in connection with Mondy’s killing. It accuses them of assault and battery.
